Lesson 6 The Impact of Time: From Tradition to Change & Crisis     Changes in the Jewish Community during the Haskalah Period (19th Century)     In this lesson we shall focus on the changes in the life of European Jewish Communities during the 19th century. In this lesson: Clarify the historical processes which impacted on the Jewish world during this period, in the context of the changes in European society as a whole. Identify the changes in the life of Jewish communities in the mid-19th century. Explore the causes of change in the Jewish people in the following areas: community structures; attitudes to religion and tradition; attitudes to the development of modern life and society; values that guided the Jewish people in earlier generations.
