Lesson 4 The Nature of the Jewish Community, as Reflected in its Values (1)     The Jewish Community From the Destruction of the Second Temple (70 C.E.) to the Period of the Enlightenment (18th-19th Centuries)     In this lesson we will visit traditional Jewish communities, as they existed in the Diaspora from the Destruction of the Second Temple (Second Exile) through the 18th century. In this lesson: We will learn about Jewish occupations and how Jews earned their livelihoods. We will get a sense of the holiday and festival atmosphere in Jewish communities.
