Session 2: Your Partner Group's Surroundings


In this lesson you will learn about the surroundings of your partner group. 
Like all lessons in 'Home and Community', this lesson is divided into 3 parts. 

If you have already completed a part of the lesson, skip to the next part..
Personal Activity:
1. Read the articles and stories about the town and the community of your partner group.
2. Choose the most interesting story.
3. Send questions.
Group Activity:
1. Discuss the stories of your partner group with your classmates.
2. View the criteria for the "town" and "community" of your partner group.
3. Answer the questions in the Writing Page.
Interactive Part:
1. Write a short description of the photo or the drawing you brought and send it to your partner group.

Mementos and stories
In the next lesson you will learn more about your town and community. For this lesson you will bring mementos and stories from your community and the town you live in.
You can bring: documents, old and new maps, books, symbols, mementos from community members, interviews with community members, etc.
Use internet sites, libraries, archives, interviews with older citizens of your town or community members.
