In this lesson you will describe your home and community. 
Like all lessons in 'Home and Community', this lesson is divided into 3 parts. 

If you have already completed a part of the lesson, skip to the next part..
Personal Activity:
1. Use the Information Center to learn about the terms "home" and "community".
2. Define the characteristics of "home" and "community"
3. Answer the questions in the Writing Page.
Group Activity:
1. Enter the Information Center and read articles and stories about towns and communities.
2. Consider the characteristics your group members chose.
3. Discuss the differences and similarities between the characteristics your group members chose.
4. Decide with your group members on the characteristics of "home and community".
Interactive Part:
1. Send to your partner group the characteristics of "home and community" your group members chose.
2. Write stories about your home and community.
3. Send the stories to the forum.

Consider the data and discuss the following questions with your group members:

  • Which criteria were chosen only by a few?
  • Do all participants live in the same town? Belong to the same community?
  • Does a group member belong to more than one town? To more than one community?
Decide on the common criteria to describe "home" and "community".
